Tarot Readings

There is controversy as to where Tarot Cards originated. Some say they appeared in the fourteenth century, others say that the gypsies who carried the tarot decks to Europe brought with them a Book of Knowledge that had existed for ages. Wherever Tarot cards originated, the imagery has been developed by those who follow the occult tradition to provide us with a language of symbolism that we can use in our everyday lives.

The tarot is a complex system of images that drew on the symbolism of a variety of traditions and folklore. The gypsies used it as a means of divination. The Tarot is nowadays viewed in occult studies as a pictoral Book of Knowledge. The imagery and relationships between the tarot cards relate to astrology, the four elements, the seasons, and the cabala. The cards can be understood in terms of numerology, psychology, art, science, or prophecy.

The Tarot Deck consists of seventy-eight cards that are divided into the major arcana and the minor arcana. There are twenty-two major arcana, which are also called trumps. The major arcana represent an internal, spiritual journey, often called, "The Fool's Journey". The fifty-six minor arcana represent an outer world of experience and events. The minor arcana are further divided into forty numbered suit cards and sixteen court cards. The numbered or small cards are the Ace to Ten in the suits of Disks (or Pentacles), Cups, Swords, and Wands. The court cards are four to each suit.

Basic Spreads I Use:

1. Cross spread - 6 Cards

2. Horeshoe Spread- 7 Cards

3. 7 Day Spread - 8 Cards
This spread is good for finding out what is going to happen within the next 7 days. Simply 8 cards are drawn and read from left to right. The first card is the day you are in and so counting 6 days from that. Each card represents each day. The final card, no. 8, will sum up the week for you. That one card will tell you the most about the overall 'vibe' of the week.

4. Money in My Life spread - 7 Cards

Special Spreads:

1. Celtic Cross - 10 Cards

2. Birthday Spread - 9 Cards

3. 6 Week Spread - 9 Cards

4. Wedding Toast Reading Spread - 12 Cards

5. Business Spread - 13 Cards:

6. Conflict in a Friendship - 15 Cards

7. Dream Interpretation - 15 Cards

8. Sacred Mandala Spread - 9 Cards:
Used for self-exploration on the spiritual side rather than the mundane.

9. The Relationship Dynamics Spread - 9 Cards:
This is a good spread for an overall look at your relationship with another person. It highlights where the relationship is at, takes a look at the other person's perspective, and gives you a foundation from which to work.
